ICST Transactions on Network Computing

Aims & Scope

There is a growing interest in network based computing platforms and services. The network computing technology is expected to reshape the information and communication technology landscape in the next five to ten years. This trend is driven by several factors such as cost savings, scalability and availability. Although, there seems to be a general consensus on the benefits and advantages of network computing, there are still many issues to be addressed before it can be adopted as a widespread technology. These challenges such as control, performance and reliability, security and privacy, and lack of established standards to name a few, have attracted significant interest among both academic and industrial research communities. This surge brings a real need for a journal, which will report the recent advances in this emerging field. Therefore, this new journal, the ICST Transactions on Network Computing (TNC), aspires to serve as a premier forum for disseminating the results of original research work in network computing.

TNC aims to present the latest theoretical results, applications and developments of network computing related techniques and methods. Areas of interest include but are not limited to:

  • cloud computing,
  • grid, utility, and on-demand computing,
  • thin clients,
  • service-oriented architectures,
  • infrastructure-, platform-, and software-as-a-service,
  • virtualization,
  • hardware architectures for network computing
  • software and middleware development for network computing
  • security and privacy considerations for network computing
  • novel computation models based on networks.
