ICST Director to speak at 4th International Create-NET Technical and Funding Workshop
November 05, 2008ICST Director of Business and Technology Affairs has been invited to open the 4th International Create-Net Technical and Funding Workshop to be held on November 6-7, 2008 in Bergamo, Italy. The Director will be presenting ICST's general mission and scope of activities and discussing the opportunities of scientific societies and associations to promote European research excellence and innovation power. The Director's presentation will also include a section dedicated to the Science for Innovation, Business and Technology Councils (SIBs) as well.
The workshop has been called to discuss EU/IST funding opportunities in the light of the upcoming ICT 2009-2010 4th Call for Proposals expected to be announced at the ICT 2008 Event on November 25-27, 2008 in Lyon, France. The event is technically co-sponsored by Enterprise Europe Network, the largest network of contact points providing EU related information to European small and medium enterprises, and Trentino Sviluppo, a development agency of the autonomous region of Trentino.
The presentations and project proposals included in the technical program will be distributed in six different tracks reflecting key technological priority areas, such as (1) Internet of the Future and Converged Infrastructures, (2) Assisted Living and Sustainable Personalized Healthcare, (3) ICT for Mobility and Safety, (4) Spectrum and Radio for Internet of the Future, (5) Networked Media and 3D Internet, and (6) ICT for Energy Efficiency. Distinguished speakers of the workshop will include Mr. Paulo de Sousa (Head of Sector at DG INFSO, Unit ``Future Networks'') and Ms. Chiara Pocaterra (APRE - Italian National Contact point for the ENERGY in FP7).
