DASHIN consortium members invited to official projects hearing
November 15, 2008Consortium members of the DASHIN, Data Sharing for Innovation, project have been invited to the official project hearings administered by the Information Society and Media Directorate-General of the European Commission. The objective of the hearing is to determine if the DASHIN projects merits the support and funding requested from the European Commission within the framework of the FP7 Infrastructures call.
The prime objective of the DASHIN project is to build a pan-European infrastructure that will offer a wide array of data curation services to European researchers and institutions such as, dataset preparation for publication purposes, standard compliant metadata authoring, and dataset registration and search. As part of the DASHIN project objectives, a European Network for Data Sharing would be established with the participation of all major technical libraries, data centers and information institutions.
Consortium members in the DASHIN project include the Center for Research and Telecommunication Experimentation for Networked Communities (CREATE-NET), ICST, the French National Institute for Research in Computer Science and Control (INRIA), Cardiff University, the High Performance Computing Center of the University of Stuttgart, the German National Library of Science and Technology, the German Aerospace Center, the GERIICO Laboratory of the University of Lille and the Center for E-Research at King's College London.
