PSATS 2009 to be collocated with SATEXPO, Europe's largest satellite trade show and exhibition

The First International ICST Conference in Personal Satellite Services (PSATS 2009) will be co-located with the European Space Applications and Technologies Exhibition (SATEXPO 2009) to be held on March 19-22, 2009 in Rome, Italy.

PSATS 2009 has been launched to serve as the premier international forum for technical, business and policy oriented discussions with regards to current and future technologies relating to satellite communications, networking, technology, systems, and applications. The conference will consist of several tracks covering a wide range of technical topics, such broadband satellite internet; general satellite systems for personal communications and navigation systems; convergence between satellite communications and emerging technologies in terrestrial, wireless and optical communications; and military and commercial satellite services.

The organizational process of PSATS 2009 is coordinated by a group of international experts representing a wide array of academic, research and corporate organizations, such as the Center for Research and Telecommunication Experimentation for Networked Communities (CREATE-NET) in Italy, the Simon Fraser University in Canada, EUTELSAT in France or the Sydney University of Technology in Australia. SATEXPO is planned to host 120 exhibitors and 13 national delegations as well as 7000 visitors and around 70 members of the international press core specialized in different economic, policy and social aspects of satellite technologies and their applications.
