ICST sponsored information governance symposium attracts high level industry experts
March 20, 2008The First International Symposium on Global Information Governance (ISGIG 2008) took place on March 13-14, 2008 in Pisa, Italy. The event has been financially sponsored by CA Labs, the research arm of CA Inc., and technically co-sponsored by Create-Net, one of Europe's largest and most innovative research consortiums, and the Institute of Informatics and Telematics, the foremost ICT oriented research organ of the Italian National Research Council. The two day conference program included a series of invited talks by a group of high profile corporate executives and the world's leading academic authorities in the area of information governance and ICT security.
Keynote presentations were delivered by Mr. Jacob LAMM, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Governance and Service Management Business Unit of CA Inc. and Mr. Simon PERRY, Founder and Managing Director of ThinkingString, a global IT and business consulting service provider. The list of invited speakers included corporate representatives from Beachcroft LLP, ATOS Origin, Freeform Dynamics, Owl Computing Technologies and Finmeccanica. Scholars from Columbia University, University of California at Davis, University of Texas at Dallas, University of Bologna, University of Pisa and Technical University of Berlin were also invited to share their ideas on cross-border and cross-organization challenges in governing, managing, and securing enterprises in a pervasively connected world.
The next edition of the symposium (ISGIG 2009) will be organized in early March 2009 in Prague, Czech Republic. The scope of the event will remain similarly focused and in addition to the track accommodating an exclusive group of invited speakers only an academic track will be added for submitted technical papers as well. ISGIG 2010 is planned to be hosted by Dr. Bhavani THURAISINGHAM, the Director of the Cyber Security Research Center of the University of Texas at Dallas.
