Sir Jonathan MICHAEL to serve as General Chair for ICST's eHealth 2008

Sir Jonathan MICHAEL, Deputy Director of BT Health, is to serve as General Chair of ICST's First International Conference on Electronic Healthcare in the 21st Century (eHealth 2008) to be held on September 8-9, 2008 in London, United Kingdom. eHealth 2008 is co-chaired by Dr. Dinos Arcoumanis, Pro-Vice Chancellor of City University and organized by a group of dedicated professionals from both the academic and private sectors. The conference is hosted by City University and technically co-sponsored by Create-Net, one of Europe's largest and most innovative research consortiums, and several of the world's leading universities in the areas of electronic healthcare and telemedicine (Newcastle University, University of Plymouth, University of Manchester, etc.).

The two day program of the conference includes multiple tracks that provide an opportunity of representation to all three communities (academic/scientific, regulatory/governmental, and business/industrial) of the electronic health sector. The Invited Speakers Track features representatives from the continent's main regulatory institutions (ICT for Health Unit of the EC DG INFSO, European Institute for Health Records (EUROREC), UK National Health Service, etc.), and largest corporate enterprises (BT Health, CISCO, iMetrikus, Healthways International, iTelecare, etc.) in the field. The Position Paper Track of the conference is open for short articles to be submitted by academics, researchers, doctors, company representatives and any professionals with an innovative idea to present.
