Founder of Stanford's PNRL delivers Keynote Session at ACCESSNETS 2008
October 25, 2008ICST's Third International Conference on Access Networks (ACCESSNETS 2008) was held on October 15-17, 2008 in Las Vegas, NV, USA. The conference featured a single track technical program including a series of technical sessions, panels and invited talks. Besides the official conference proceedings published in the Lecture Notes of ICST series, best papers of ACCESSNETS were considered for International Journal of Autonomous and Adaptive Communications Systems, the International Journal of Communication Networks and Distributed Systems and the Special Issue on Broadband Access Networks of the Journal on Selected Areas in Communications.
The keynote sessions of the conference were delivered by Prof. Leonid K. KAZOVSKY, Founder of the Photonics and Networking Research Laboratory of Stanford University, and Dr. Kevin W. SCHNEIDER, Chief Technology Officer of ADTRAN Inc. The presentation of Prof. KAZOVSKY aimed at introducing a novel view on the evolution of broadband access and highlighting the potentials of hybrid optical/wireless networks. Dr. SCHNEIDER's keynote talk focused on Carrier Ethernet solutions and the market and technology requirements of their wide-scale adaption.
The Fourth International Conference on Access Networks (ACCESSNETS 2009) will be held on November 02-04, 2009 in Hong Kong, China. The organizing process of ACCESSNETS 2009 is being coordinated by a group of international experts headed by Dr. Danny H. K. TSANG from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology as the General Chair of the conference. The technical program of ACCESSNETS 2009 is planned to be extended to accommodate multiple parallel tracks for the technical sessions, a series of accompanying workshops and more involvement from industry stakeholders.
