Worldwide Chapters
ICST's charter is to support research, innovation and technology transfer in a way which is mutually beneficial to an individual Institute member or an institutional member worldwide.
To this end the cooperation with scientific and engineering communities around the world is one of the key tenets of the Institute.
The fundamental aims and visions of ICST are the unification and localization of research efforts worldwide to maximize visibility and impact, to promote and support the utilization of excellence on all continents. ICST World Chapters play a key and essential role in this process.
The Objectives of the Global Outreach Committee are to:
- Increase level of awareness of international cooperation in research and technology transfer through worldwide Chapters
- Set up a worldwide network of contributors and stakeholders
- Identify emerging scientific challenges related to worldwide research communities
- Plan and execute conferences, publications and related events across the World Chapter devoted to internationalization
- Implement an international portal representing all international and inter-continental activities
- Initiate cooperation between all continents by providing gateway to and from European Research
The EU Commission has adopted the general model grant agreement, which will be used in the financing of international research projects under the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7). ICST Global Outreach Committee will provide assistance to attract worldwide, high profile, quality partners in European funded projects as well as those research opportunities on other continents focusing on funding for international cooperation.
